You can have all the money in the world and the highest IQ, but can never predict how your baby will be’ - Parent in Bognor Regis
We listen to the needs of local families. We hear that parents want practical support with their children, to make life the best it can be. Home-Start provides support for local families going through their most challenging of times. Parents maybe struggling each day due to family breakdown, bereavement, illness, mental health, isolation or feeling torn between multiple children at home. The impact on their children is such that they may not be quite ready for when school and their formal education begins, they maybe unable to bond with their baby, they could feeling depressed and isolated without nearby networks of support. Home-Start is described as a “lifeline” for the families but, the demand outstrips the supply of volunteers to support families 1-2-1. Hence, the pop up event was created! This event will enable more families to benefit from the support of Home-Start experts this month. Each session lasts 45 minutes long and you can choose to attend any 3 in the day. Parents will stay with their children and do activities together, with guidance. It will be welcoming, fun and hands-on!
Charlotte Simmons, Senior Organiser said;
"This day will be action packed with a wide choice of activities for parents with their children. We are excited to be trying out this new way of working with more families, at one time! We work closely with the Children and Family Centres across the area and we are thrilled that Footprints can host this pop up event. Thanks to the donations on Space Hive we can do this for parents for free."
This one day event will offer free taster sessions and fun activities including; * Muddy Buddy (outdoor play) * Hand Land (arts 8 crafts) * Chill Out Zone * Family Wellbeing * Pack N Snack Lunch. All these activities help to develop skills in children to be ready for socialising, learning and having fun with play that can be replicated at home.
It will be a hands-on day with staff and volunteers from Home-Start from 09.30am until 2.30pm. The event is free to attend. To pre-register for a place, or for more information, contact the team at the office firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01903 889707 and speak to a member of staff.
